SCT+ cookie policy

COOKIE POLICY

Plain-language explanation of how SCT+ uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites.

This Cookie Policy explains how SCT+ (Solar Camera Technology Plus, LLC) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on solarcamera.com, app.solarcamera.com, and related subdomains (the "Sites"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide usage analytics. We also use closely-related technologies — local storage, session storage, pixel tags, and SDKs — which we collectively refer to as "cookies" throughout this policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

2.1 Strictly necessary

Required for the Sites to function — session management, security features, load balancing, and remembering your cookie consent choices. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

2.2 Preferences

Remember your locale, theme (dark/light), and other UI settings between visits. Disabling these means we won't remember your preferences.

2.3 Analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the Sites — which pages get traffic, where people drop off, what content drives demo requests. We use Google Tag Manager and privacy-respecting analytics tools (PostHog, Plausible). We don't use these cookies to identify you personally.

2.4 Marketing

Used by advertising partners to measure campaign effectiveness and show you SCT+ ads on other sites you visit. Set only if you accept marketing cookies in our consent banner.

3. Your choices

You can manage cookies in three ways:

  • Our consent banner: Shown on your first visit and re-openable from the footer. You can grant or revoke consent for each category at any time.
  • Browser settings: Every modern browser lets you block, delete, and inspect cookies. Doing so will affect site functionality.
  • Industry opt-outs: For advertising cookies specifically, see the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out pages.

4. Cookies set by third parties

Some cookies on the Sites are set by services we embed (analytics, video, chat). Those third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies — review them directly for details on what they collect and how to opt out.

5. Updates

We may update this policy as we add or remove tools. Material changes are announced on this page and dated in the "Last Updated" line at the top.
